Money Smart
At Simmons First we believe it is important to take an active role in ensuring consumers have the opportunity to gain basic financial concepts. The new Money Smart Program does just that. Designed and distributed by the FDIC, Money Smart is adaptable for use from 7th grade through adulthood.
Money Smart is a curriculum intended to help consumers understand the basics of banking, with modules on topics such as bank services, credit, budgeting, savings, credit cards, loans and home ownership. The program can be taught in its entirety, or specific modules can fill in the gaps in other financial education programs.
Money Smart can be printed and disseminated. It has no copyright restrictions. Each module contains an instructor's manual, participant's manual, and a power point presentation.
Anyone interested in financial education can use Money Smart. Money Smart is available from the FDIC on CD-ROM in English, Spanish, Chinese and Korean. For information and instructions on how to obtain copies of the curriculum in Spanish, Chinese or Korean go to www.fdic.gov or call 1-877-275-3342 or (202) 942-3404.
